I am ready for Christmas Break! I do not want to do anything. I should be studying right now, but you see how that is going for me. (Ignore this Mom and Dad. Thanks.)
I am just ready for a break. I am tired of books. I am tired of studying. I am tired of being busy.
I really can't complain because I love being busy and I love what I am doing. BUT I am tired. I am ready to be with my family for more than just a weekend at a time here and there.
I feel like Thanksgiving Break is a tease. It's like here is five days that you don't have to do anything and then BOOM when you get back from break you have to begin studying for finals. Who wants to do that? Exactly, no one.
Why? Because we have Christmas Break Fever.

Road Trip!
This past week (November 16-18) the Tri Chi's went on a road trip to Branson! Not all of us went, but those who did had a blast!
I really enjoyed this trip because I road with three other people, two of whom I typically don't hang out with. We also went to Silver Dollar City and there I hung out with girls and some of our beaus that again, I typically wouldn't hang out with. It's not that I don't like them by any means. It is just that I typically hang out with just my Pledge Class.
I loved getting to know my other sisters. I think that was my favorite part of the trip. Well, I also enjoyed the car ride there and back with Cara, Abbey, and Bradely. We had a lot of laughter in three short days.
I absolutely love Tri Chi and the girls that make the club. I could not have asked to be apart of and associated with a better club.

For My Daddy
I haven't blogged in quite awhile. I have just been caught up in school and my social life. School is starting to pick up with Christmas break just weeks away. Everyone is trying to save their grades that dropped during Tiger Tunes. It's a lot of fun to be apart of Tiger Tunes, but you have to get focused on studies as soon as it's over.
Today, my family came to visit for lunch. It was SO good to see them. I have missed my family. I know I'm only an hour away, but there are times that you just need a good hug from your parents.
During today's adventure with my family my Daddy told me that I hadn't blogged in awhile so... this blog is for him.
---
Yesterday OBU lost against HSU in the Battle of the Ravine. It was pretty much a blood bath with the final score being 42-7. We won't talk about that anymore.
I had to work Saturday at 6:30am! Never have I had to report to work that early. It wasn't as annoying as I thought it would be though. I went to bed early the previous night so waking up wasn't bad at all. I love the people I work with. They are hilarious and we always mess with each other. Working with people you enjoy is always a plus to having to work anywhere or anytime.
---
I haven't been feeling the best. I think it may be the weather not making up its mind. (That's typical Arkansas weather though.) I wish I could just sleep for twenty-four hours straight. However, like I mentioned at the beginning of this blog with school and a social life it's difficult to balance everything. Luckily, there are these wonderful things called afternoon naps. Naps and I have become quite good friends.
---
Speaking of no sleep... On Thursday night me and two of my friends are going to see the midnight premiere of Breaking Dawn Part II. Yeah, yeah. Go ahead judge and tell me how corny and stupid the series is. That's okay, I get it. I loved the books and I have already invested time into watching the movies so I'm going to finish the series. Plus, they really aren't that bad if you read the books.
---
This was a really random blog, but I really don't have a main point to focus on right now. My life has just been filled with many exciting and boring things. Haha.

Exciting News
I have recently discovered that I will be graduating a whole year early if everything goes the way it's supposed to this year and next. When I found this out, I was so ecstatic! I will be one busy bee, but it will be worth it.
To graduate early is something that I never thought I was going to be able to do. Although, I always dreamed of doing so. Why? Well, one I would be saving lots of money by cutting off one year of my college education. Two, the main reason, is I will be able to begin one year early what I love to do in the work force.
I know, I know. Don't grow up too fast and you can do what you love right where you are now. Yes, I get that but I just can't wait to actually pursue my dreams and get out there in the world. I want to see and discover everything that life has to offer.
I can't wait for the day that I launch my ministry that God has called me to do. It just makes my heart so happy.
While, graduating early is awesome there are some downers. One, I will be taking 14 hours of summer school. This seems drastic and absurd, but really it won't be too bad. I am taking two history classes and two science classes. (They are apart of my core classes that I have to have to graduate.) I hate science. It is a weakness of mine so I would rather have it for a whole month every single day rather than spread out during a four month time period. History, eh, well I am not too worried about those classes. I might even take them online because I heard from one of my good friends that it was actually an easy online class. Second, I will be taking 19.5 hours come Fall 2013. I am going to be a crazy person. Okay, so I already am crazy, but we won't go there. There might be a way for me to move one of those classes to Spring 2014, but I'm not quite sure yet if that is what I want to do.
I will finish my school up in EUROPE! Amazing, right?!? Well, you see the European Study Tour that OBU offers is a wonderful program that also gives you six credit hours. (3 for humanities elective and 3 for a fine art) I need all six of those hours so that is where I will finish school! IN EUROPE! Words cannot express my excitement.
I am now praying (and I ask that you pray too) that the next years of my college career work out the way they need to. I had to do some rearranging of my classes for next semester because some of my classes interfered with one another. I really need this not to happen come Fall 2013 and Spring 2014. The reason being is because some of the courses that I REALLY want to take are only offered at certain times. I am hoping the only reason that my schedule had conflict was due to a class that I had to take this coming semester that was only offered at one time.
So, please, please, please pray that this will happen for me and that it is what God wants me to do. So far, everything has fallen well into place besides that one mishap with classes interfering which actually was an easy fix. I just had to play around with some classes. Thank you so much for your prayers! I truly appreciate them.
I hope that this news as is exciting to you as it was to me!

Never Have I Ever...
Never have I ever been more blessed to be a Tri Chi then the other night. The girls that I call my sisters are each so unique, but we all have so much fun when we are together. Together we make memories and friendships that will truly last a lifetime.
Tri Chi Circus. Tiger Tunes is this week which means the campus is filled with joy and lack of sleep. Tiger Tunes is hosted by the OSF. The money that Tiger Tunes raises goes 100% towards scholarships for students. It is such a hit that shows how much the students at Ouachita support other students. This year is my first year to be in Tiger Tunes. I am in the show with, of course, the Tri Chi's. Our theme for our show is Circus. I would post more about it, but it is a secret until the first performance which is Thursday night.
Homecoming is also this week (Saturday). I am excited to watch our football team play for we are undefeated!! I also get to wear a black suit for Tri Chi and as weird as it may sound, I am quite excited about wearing a suit and high heels. I like to dress up every now and then. Ha.
Last, but not least there are 20 days until my 20th birthday!!! Yay!!!
Have a great Monday!

My Lovely Beautiful Girls
The girls on my hall are so wonderful. Yes, we are girls and there have been some up's and down's, but overall I LOVE every single one of the girls on my hall.
I do not think they realize how much I have already been blessed by them. I love the late night conversations, the questions, trying to help them figure out how to resolve a roommate issue, etc.
I love being able to be there for them. They have taught me so much and it has only been about a month into school.
Seriously, they have made my this semester for me so much more of a blessing already.

Kaitie

One Step At A Time
The motto I lived by last week was "One step at at time."
I had a great Labor Day weekend, but the long weekend threw my schedule all out of order.
Tuesday was such a draining day. I really don't know exactly why either. There was just so much going on that I wasn't able to catch my breath until eleven that night. I had people even telling me that I was not acting myself. I had people telling me to go take a nap too. Ha. Little did they know that my whole week was going to be busy.
I was finally able to get a little nap in on Friday afternoon, I think. It wasn't a very long nap though so when I woke up I just felt even more tired than before.
On Friday we got a beautiful storm so I danced in the rain with one of my friends, Tori. That was a really good evening.
Yesterday, I went to the Razorback Game. It was a sad game, but I had great seats and loved seeing my friends and family!
Today, I didn't go to Church. (Bad Kaitie, I know.) I really need to catch up on sleep. I finally woke up to shower at oh, 2pm. I caught up on sleep to say the least. :)
I hope you all are having a great day!

Kaitie

First Week DOWN!
The first week of college has felt like the first month of college. It has been crazy busy! However, I have loved every minute of it.
My girls have seemed to move in pretty well and finally seem somewhat organized. I myself have also seemed to be pretty organized.
I do feel bad for maintenance because I feel like everything breaks down the first week because it isn't used to being used so much. Isn't that how it always works though?
I think I am going to like my Publication Design class the best. I get to learn how to organize brochures, newspapers, etc. Even my Video Production class, I think I am going to like. I am just such a Mass Comm major.
My least favorite class I think will be Spanish. I like the teacher and all it is just at 8am and I do not really want to take Spanish. I have to because it's a core class.
I do not know how I am going to feel about Personal Finance. There are 102 people in the class because one of the teacher's retired last minute and they didn't have enough time to hire someone new. So one teacher is taking two other classes and he can only take the two classes at a certain time. I will say I do like that this class is only on Tuesdays. It supposed to be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So that is something really awesome about Personal Finance.
I have not taken Women's Ministry yet because that is only a Tuesday class. I am really excited about this class because it is a small class of about twenty girls. I know the majority of them too because a lot of them are Tri Chi's.
Last night, I got to be apart of a proposal. It was one of the sweetest things. After a TC meeting, I went over to the girl who was being proposed to apartment. Her boyfriend, soon to be fiance, was there with some of my friends and they were setting up the scene. There were 350 pounds of sand in her apartment. (On a tarp, of course.) The sand led from the door to her room where there was a beach scene projected on the wall with waves crashing, candles, and the song Marry Me by Train playing in the background. Two of our friends were in the room taking pics and videoing the proposal. It was one of the sweetest things and I am so thankful that I was asked and privileged to be apart.
I seem to be doing okay on sleep, but ask me that next week and the story may be different.
God Bless,
Kaitie

New Beginnings
Well... Let me begin by first noting that yes, I did delete all previous blogs. I just needed a clean slate and something that I am actually going to continue to update because I got really lazy on posting blogs last semester.
So that being said... Here is my first blog of the new school year!
Not only am I a Sophomore (Time sure does fly!), but I am also an RA. While being a Sophomore is an exciting thing within itself, being an RA is even more exciting to me.
I moved back to OBU on Tuesday (August 14) and went through RA training for three days. The training was nice. I learned a lot, but I was getting super antsy because I was just very ready to meet all the girls on my hall. I knew their names, but I was ready to put names with faces and meet family and friends.
Once, Saturday FINALLY came I was ecstatic. The girls on my hall are all moved in and I already love every single one of them. This is year is going to be fantastic! I cannot wait to see how God is going to move through their lives and mine as well.
I literally am so happy that I am blessed to have the privilege to be an RA. I have been super social with all the girls on my hall these first couple of nights to the extent that my voice is going hoarse. I have also lacked sleep. Luckily, I was able to take a two hour nap yesterday night and slept until 9:30 this morning.
While I have enjoyed meeting many new people, I have also enjoyed catching up with old friends. It really feels like no time has past with my friendships here at Ouachita. We instantly pick up right were we left off before summer vacation. Everyone has many interesting stories from summer and it is just nice to see old faces and know that your friendships haven't changed a bit.
Follow this link to see some pictures of my hall, etc. :) http://kaitieobu.blogspot.com/p/photos.html
Hopefully, I will keep this blog up to date this year!

Kaitie
