The year has begun full swing!
It is only week three of school and I already feel crazy busy! Yes, I know that being "crazy busy" is not good for me nor does it measure my success in life. However, I do not know what else I can eliminate in my life to make my school and social life a little less hectic. I have already quit my catering job, which was something that was difficult to do.
Now, I do not want you to think that I am not enjoying my semester. I am. I love school and being able to see friends everyday. With that being said, it is my senior year and I feel the weight of the classes and course load being heavier. It is really unlike any other semester. Projects are left and right. Reading consumes my life. Interviews for stories. Internships. Etc.
I love all of it. Every single second of all the craziness. (Even when I'm exhausted I love it.)
The thing is, I feel like every semester I have to relearn how to be a good manager of my time. This is me not being a good time manager currently because I am writing this blog instead of reading my homework assignment. However, I just really need a break from school work right now for my mental health. Ha. I do sound like an insane person, don't I?
Anyway, this blog is totally random and scattered from thought to thought. But... that's a little piece of my brain right now.
I guess I am off to my room to read, write a news story, more reading, and maybe even more reading. Ha.
God Bless,
Kaitie

Here I Go!
Senior Year is HERE!
Classes begin TUESDAY!
I cannot believe it.
It is so crazy to think that my senior year has begun. I am already so in love with this year. You know that feeling you have when you just know that something is going to be great? Well, I have that feeling. It is going to be a great year1
I am an RA again this year to the freshman girls. I am on the same hall as last year too! I have not had the opportunity to really get to talk to any of my girls yet though. They have been busy with the activities that the school has for all the new students. They are all so sweet and beautiful that much I do know!
I cannot wait to share all of my funny stories, memories, and sad times this year. I am going to try to be more consistent in posting on this blog so... we will see how that goes.
God Bless,
Kaitie

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I Love You!
Tomorrow is the day!
No, not my wedding day. I do not even have a boyfriend so that is definitely not tomorrow.
No, I am not leaving for an awesome vacation. I wish, but no that is not it either.
Tomorrow is the day that I am officially done with summer school!!! Words cannot express how excited I am to take my two finals tomorrow and say, "Adios" to my history and science class.
It has been a summer full of studying and busyness that I had not fully prepared myself for. I am glad that God has given me the perseverance that I needed to get through this crazy summer of taking seventeen hours plus completing an internship. People think I am crazy for taking on so much and I cannot say I blame them. There have definitely been times this summer when I have thought, "What did I get myself into?" However, if I had to do it all over again there is no doubt in my mind that I would.
Anyway, I had to dedicate a blog to just celebrate the fact that tomorrow is the day that I am DONE with summer school!
I hope that you have a wonderful Monday tomorrow like I know I am going to have.
God Bless,
Kaitie

Summer School
Summer School. A blessing in disguise?
I really am blessed to be able to take summer courses. However, it is difficult to balance class and a social life during the summer. This is difficult even during the school year itself. Trying to balance summer and school is even more challenging.
I am taking Fine Art: Music through OBU. This is a May Term course. It's been good. I get to go one my own time. However, I'm still playing catch-up from the beach. I should be writing a discussion question right now, but I needed a break.
I sign-up for Pulaski Tech classes tomorrow at 8am. Yikes. Haha. First summer term I will be taking Biology and an online history class. Not sure which history class I am going to take yet. Second term I will be taking Physical Science and an online English Literature class. Again, not quite sure what literature class I will be taking.
I keep reminding myself that taking 17hours this summer will allow me to graduate a whole year early and is saving me and my parents money. There are always pros and cons to situations.
I'm quickly learning those pros and cons of summer school.

Blessings
I am so honored that I was able to help the community through the revitalization of Downtown Arkadelphia this semester through the class, Ad-PR.
I am truly so happy with everything that the class accomplished. I don't want to go back to the beginning and start over, but I wish I could keep the class together. We had some challenges that we had to work through, but overall I feel like we really developed a campaign that accomplished everything that was asked of us.
It was so exciting to finally present our presentation today and see the Downtown Arkadelphia Board's reaction. They were so pleased with our campaign. They are taking our baby into their own hands. While it is the end for us, it is the beginning for them.
I cannot wait to see how they take our suggestions and run with them.
It was truly a blessing and it makes me so much more excited about my possible career in public relations!

Kaitie

Last Week Before Finals
It is the last official week of classes.
What am I doing? I am in the computer lab typing this blog. You see, I am in here helping with a group project. I am actually here just if someone has any questions. Right now, I am of no use so that is why I decided to type this blog.
I don't have anything better to do with my time, right?
I could be sleeping, but you see the last week of school one really doesn't understand the definition of sleep. In fact, one is very lucky if they are in bed by 2am. Maybe I am just crazy. Pretty sure though, all the Mass Communications would agree with me.
Funny story, I skipped class today just so I could take a nap. I literally was not functioning like a normal human being. It was much needed. (Especially since I had work from 4-8pm, a group meeting at 8:30, and now this meeting that begin at 10:45) I love being a college student. Seriously, I really do. I just love sleep too.
It is crazy to think that in a few weeks I will be able to call myself a senior!
Yes, I should be a technically be a junior next semester, but as I believe I have mentioned before I am graduating a whole year early. Yes, I realize I am completely crazy. I am so excited about everything though. God has opened the doors to allow me to do so. I know that I am headed down the right path.
Well, I think I am going to wrap this up. Honestly, I am too tired to stare at the computer screen any longer. I might go crossed-eyed if I continue to do so.
I hope you are having a wonderful week and getting sleep in which I am lacking.
God Bless,
Kaitie

Spring at OBU
Springtime is such a beautiful time here on campus. The weather is so nice, of course, minus the pollen. April is filled with many events such as Tiger Serve Day and Tiger Traks and the professor's are getting last minute papers and projects in. It is a very busy time, but a very exciting time.
I myself, have quite a bit of work that I should be working on right now, but instead I decided to blog. In fact, I have kind of been that way all week. There are many papers that I could be working on and random homework assignments I could accomplish. However, the weather has been so pretty so I it makes me not want to do any work. I would go outside and read for my assignments but I would get distracted by butterflies and the people walking by. Haha.
I was able to got to the Student Center this evening and actually get some work successfully done while sipping on my caramel macchiato and watching the wind blow the trees. I was inside focused, but could still the beautiful day that God had blessed us with today.
I hope that you yourself are enjoying the beautiful weather, if you are reading from a place that has beautiful weather.

Kaitie

Not Much Longer
This year has flown by. I have about one more month until I complete my junior year. It's a little overwhelming to think about. I have so much to do before this school year is over.
I haven't posted in awhile simply because when I have downtime I am either taking a nap or watching Netflix. It seems as when I think I have downtime I really don't. Haha. There is always something I could be working on. But honestly, every now and then you just need a break.
Spring Break was wonderful. It wasn't long enough though. It just made me more ready for Easter weekend. Easter weekend also went well. I was able to go home and spend time with the family. However, Easter just made me more ready for summer.
I always hate living OBU to go home, but once I'm home I love it and hate having to go back to OBU. BUT once I get back to OBU I love it too. It's like I leave one home to return to another home. It's truly a blessing to have a home away from home.
I am just drained. I am tired. It's not the people. It's not the atmosphere. It's the homework. I just am tired of class. I love at the beginning of the year when you have the first week to settle in, no work. It's just like church camp. I wish I could have a week like that soon. It won't happen, but I can dream.
One thing that makes me extremely happy is that once this semester is over I will no longer have to take another Spanish class. I've learned that Spanish is not my strong point. I'm okay with that I am just tired of fighting a losing battle. Know what I mean?
I have been working the Phonothan here at school. I have enjoyed this oppurtunity. It gives me the privilege of speaking with alumni from the 1950's. It is so neat to hear stories and how Ouachita has helped them as students and now retirees in life. I love hearing the connections and stories of memories and friendships that were made. It makes me so much more thankful for my school and what I am apart of.
This was a very scattered blog, but my thoughts are quite scattered so... that's what happens.
Have a wonderful Tuesday. Hopefully, I will catch up on sleep soon.
God Bless,
Kaitie

Throw Back Thursday
The new hype is Throw Back Thursday. It really gets me thinking. Well, I was already thinking before viewing my Instagram to see all the new photos from way-back when. But tonight as I was walking from the library back to the dorm my mind began to drift.
Isn't it crazy that I am a junior in college? Isn't it crazy that I don't live at home 9 out of the 12 months of the year? Isn't crazy that high school seemed like such a long time ago? Isn't it crazy how quickly you grow up?
I am a very sentimental person if you haven't gathered that by my past few blogs. I love every aspect of life. (Even though I may complain every now and then.) I love how one simple picture can bring back so many memories. So many memories.
I miss my high school friends. I truly miss seeing them every day. However, I know I am exactly where I am supposed to in the game of life. I just want them to know that they mean more to me than they could ever imagine. They were and are a huge part of my life. They have helped shape me into who I am today. We are more than friends. We are family. A family that would do anything for one another.
As Addie would say, "I love you, guys."

God's Calling
Lately, I have been battling with the fact if I want to look into getting some type of degree in counseling.
As, most of my readers know I am going to more than likely graduate a whole year early. I was so pumped about the fact that I was going to be able to begin my work life early. I am so excited for what God is calling me to that I am anxious to get out there and go!
However, it has been laid on my heart that I should tap into counseling. I don't want to have a practice or any such thing like that. I just want to have the background knowledge. I was determined not to have any more school. Once I graduate Ouachita I want to be done for good. BUT as I kept pushing the thought of a counseling degree out of mind it kept coming back as a heavy issue on my heart.
I don't know if it makes sense to you about the heaviness that I feel on my heart when I think about getting a degree in counseling. Think about it like this though... You know when you know you are supposed to do something because you just feel this burden on your heart that won't go away until you take action? Yes? No? I'm going to pretend you answered yes in your head. Ha. So you understand to a small percent what I'm feeling.
Well, a few things have unraveled lately in my life and it has it the point that I cannot ignore the fact that God is calling me to get my degree in counseling.
It is crazy to me because when I received my call to ministry I was seeking for it. I knew God was calling so I was willing to find my purpose. When it came to me being called to get a degree in counseling I was very hesitant. I knew what I wanted. I wanted no more school. I wanted to get on with my life and have no more school bills adding to the ones I currently have. I had it planned out. First red flag, right? I had it planned out. Ha. No, God has it planned out.
The fact that I am going to graduate a whole year early means that more than likely I can use that year for my degree on counseling still finishing school in a timely manner. God opened that door for me in a way that I would have never thought. Yes, I was very hesitant, but not anymore. I want God's will for my life. I want the purpose he has for me. Not mine.
With all this being said, I am meeting with the OBU school counselor next Friday (Feb.8) to just pick his brain and ask questions. I have so many concerns and questions that need to be answered. I know that there is a lot of different types of degrees in counseling so I am trying to figure out which route I am needing to take. I am so thrilled about this meeting. Even if it is at 8:30am. Ha.
I hope that you too find your purpose in God and that when he is calling you answer.
God Bless,
Kaitie
P.S. Yes, I posted this blog on both my personal and OBU blog. :)

Already in Love
Let me just say that I am going to have an amazing semester!
The Spring Semester has already started off with a BANG! RUSH is the first week of school and next week will be Pledge Week. I am so thrilled to be on the other side of RUSH even if it means going to sleep at 3:30am on a school night! I love my club and the girls that it consists of and I cannot wait to have a little! The girls make the club for sure!
On another note... I am ecstatic about my classes (minus Spanish). Haha. I am going to really enjoy my Mass Comm classes, as always. Lots of reading and writing! :)
I know that I haven't been doing well at blogging. Know that I am a happy, busy camper who is lacking sleep! :)
God Bless,
Kaitie

Brand New Semester
I can honestly say that I am really excited for a new semester. I know that I haven't been blogging here lately, but it is simply because I am enjoying every ounce of this break that I can.
I did very well Fall Semester. Well, minus the not-so-awesome grade in Spanish. I dislike Spanish A LOT. The only thing that I am not excited about next semester is I have to take one more semester of Spanish. Blah.
I will no longer be a pledge come late January. I will have a TC Little and I am anxiously awaiting to find out who will be my little.
I would type more, but I am currently watching The Vampire Diaries and it has more of my attention.
God Bless,
Kaitie
